Founder and Counsellor
I am privileged to have been able to work with vulnerable children and their families for 20 years in which time I have seen A LOT!
I started my career in training and development, working with vulnerable people and young adults to help them gain skills for employment.
This culminated in me training to become a counsellor. After qualifying, I worked for the NHS in Doctor's surgeries, counselling mostly adults.
Until...a chance meeting with a retiring School Counsellor changed the course of my career. She asked me if I was interested in taking over from her as there was such a need for counsellors in schools.
It was scary at first - teens are alarmingly honest and if I didn't get it right it could be a disaster.
But - it worked out and I found I had a natural ability to work with teens.
Working with teens is challenging an many of my students are Autistic or have some neurodivergence.
In recent years and particularly post covid, I’m seeing more and more children and young adults displaying autistic traits, PARTICULARLY IN GIRLS.
I struggled to signpost parents for support that wasn’t expensive or too difficult to understand.
I knew that something had to be done…
I started to talk on my social media about out all things autism, particularly girls who are notoriously known for masking autistic traits.
I had a shock…

Personal Experience:
- I am a late diagnosed Autistic person. As a child, I often felt unhappy and struggled to express myself, leading to misunderstandings and self-blame.
